Started in as a part of my work as Ruby developer, UI designer and tech lead for Speed & Function
Business role
The website was a portfolio / presentation of the design agency work.
What it was about
The company was a prominent web design shop
The project was a classic WordPress website with no data exchange between other services.
Challenges
- very tight deadlines: 2 weeks for the first 2 pages, another 2 weeks for the rest of the pages.
- difficult to implementa animations
My responsibilities
I worked here as a front-end developer & a tech lead alongside 2 PHP developers and 2 other front-ends. My role was to set up an asset pipeline and drive the HTML / CSS in limited time.
- Correcting web typography
- Fine-tuning web typography
- Front-end develpment (HTML / CSS /JS)
- Setting up asset build pipeline via Webpack, ESbuild, Parcel etc.
Interesting things I did on this project
- Rewriting clumsy legacy HTML into correct, consise, semantic HTML that looks beautiful even with no CSS
- Technical leadership of a team of developers
