A JotForm assessment tool*
* Real name obfuscated because of an NDA
Started in as a part of my work as Ruby developer, UI designer and tech lead for Speed & Function
Business role
The assessment tool was both a lead generation instrument, and something working for existing customers
What it was about
A New Zealand based consultancy, targeting companies that want to engage in deliberate development
The client had a working “assessment tool” implemented on JotForm, and our job was to improve its UX
Challenges
The budget was so tight that we had to cut half of our initial suggestions, even some which would increase lead generation.
My responsibilities
I first gave recommendations on the UX of the tool, and then implemented some of them
- Advice & guidance on better UX in the web interfaces
- Correcting web typography
- Generating upsell proposals for current clients
- Participation in creating project roadmaps
- Videocalls with client’s team
Interesting things I did on this project
Preparing solution engineering proposals for incoming projects
Team
Besides me, the team consisted of
- project manager
- supervising manager
Feedback I received

I want to give a shoutout to [PM] and @Sergey Pedan for successfully conducting a presale for [project name]. It’s a small project, but it’s just the first phase and a valuable step toward building stronger relations with this partner. Great job, both of you! 🐧
Wonderful — thank you for being fast Sergey!
I'm already starting to get some good and helpful feedback [about our changes]. Thank you so much for everything. It has been a pleasure working with you.
