No-code purchase funnel*
* Real name obfuscated because of an NDA
Started in as a part of my work as Ruby developer, UI designer and tech lead for Speed & Function
Business role
The solution my team was working on was a custom-built funnel flow, which aimed at raising the conversion rates of upsale pages.
What it was about
The company business was helping its customers acquire the ”emotional support animal” license for their dogs and cats.
A combination of a no-code tool, PHP back-end and OntraPort as CRM, plus MySQL database with lots of SQL functions. The funnel itself was a set of upsale pages with dynamic logic of transitions between them. We helped the company to move that from Ontraport to Webflow and then to PHP.
Challenges
The client’s system was built around a no-code service acting as the database, and several other no-code tools around it, so very different problems were arising, which normally would not even be there
My responsibilities
I participated in this project as a fractional tech lead.
- Authoring purchase flows
- Front-end develpment (HTML / CSS /JS)
- Generating upsell proposals for current clients
- Integrating data from API providers
- Refactoring legacy code
Interesting things I did on this project
- Mentoring junior developers
- Moving the project to a new task management system
- Preparing solution engineering proposals for incoming projects
- Rewriting clumsy legacy HTML into correct, consise, semantic HTML that looks beautiful even with no CSS
- Technical leadership of a team of developers
- Web page performance optimization
